This fictional story begins not long after Jack tossed out a flippant invitation to God.  You will see that he got much more than expected in nightly dreams.  In twenty-one dreams, with a few breaks along the way, God answers all of Jack’s questions.  Why is this life the way it is, and what would it be like living God’s way rather than his my-way?  As you read this story, imagine yourself in Jack’s position as God appears in his dreams.  How would you react, and what questions would you ask?  It gets especially interesting for:

  • People who assume they believe in the one true God.
  • True believers who think God has no particular purpose for them following their gift of salvation.
  • Lost people who think they do not have to worry because it will somehow all work out for them in the end.

Assumed Christianity addresses the fact that today’s 2.3 billion self-proclaimed Christians have many different understandings of what it means to be a Christian.  While that may not matter to some of us, it does to the one who does matter – Christ Jesus!  In Matthew 7:21-23, as part of His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus explains that He does not know “many” of the people who actively profess to be Christians.  He even includes some people who do good works in His name.  And if that continues, He prophesies there will be eternal consequences.  However, because of His extreme love for us, Jesus tells us now while we still have the opportunity to be assured of our relationship with Him.  And with that relationship, we discover how we become the masterpiece that God created us to be.

Paul Anka wrote the song for his friend Frank Sinatra who first sang it, but they were not the originators of the my-way approach to life.  The truth is that everyone begins life my-way, and most never change.  My Way Take 2 is the author’s story of discovery and experience, proving that the my-way take on life never provides the peace and eternal assurance we need.  Fortunately, the one true God provides Christ Jesus as the Way to have that peace and become the person He created you to be.  In addition to the author’s journey, this book highlights similar stories by five other prominent people.
