Abortion – What the Bible says…

Abortion - What the Bible says...
  1. Does God consider an unborn fetus to be a human life?
    • “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you….” (Jeremiah 1:5 ESV)
    • For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13 NIV)
  2. Does God value the unborn child?
    • So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27 ESV)
  3. Does anyone have the God-given right to abort unborn children?
    • You shall not murder (Exodus 20:13 ESV)
    • Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind. (Genesis 9:6 NIV)
    • “When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman’s husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine.  But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life…” (Exodus 21:22-23 ESV)
  4. Are leaders of our country, church leaders, and medical professionals accountable for acting according to the truth of God’s Word in the Bible?
    • So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. (Romans 14:12 NIV)
  5. Is an act of abortion forgivable?
    • For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death. (2 Corinthians 7:10 NLT)
    • Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord  (Acts 3:19 NIV)
