We celebrate Easter as the day Jesus rose from the grave to new life, but there is even more to reason to cheer. As true believers of Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord, we are assured that one day our body will rise from the dead and be glorified in Heaven with God. However, because of His Easter, we do not have to wait for our resurrection. Referring to you and me today, Jesus says: “…they have already passed from death into life” (John 5:24 NLT).
So, while Easter Sunday is the day to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection from the grave to new life, as true believers each of us has another day to celebrate. You know the exact or approximate date when you believed and received Jesus, so make that your Personal Resurrection Day and celebrate your resurrection from the grave of death to new life in Christ.
In the short fictional story (AWAKE To a New Life…), Jack discovers he had been erroneously assuming his salvation, even though he was raised as a professed Christian. Invited by God to ask any questions, Jack receives answers from God in nightly dreams. After accepting the fallacy of his assumptions about God and life, he takes the opportunity to ask more questions and learn what life would be like if he went all-in to believe and receive Jesus. When he finally gets to the point of receiving God’s call, Jack sees the presence of God saying to him: “And Jack, just as Jesus rose out of that grave to new life, in the morning you will come out of your grave and rise to new life in Christ. Your eternal life with the one true God begins then as you are resurrected from death to life.”
Although that story is about a fictional character, from experience I know there is nothing fictional about rising from the grave of death to new life in Christ.
